Background
Marianne Olyver studied in London and Geneva with world renown violinists Max Rostal, Alfredo Campoli and Emanuel Hurwitz CBE. She regularly broadcasts on BBC Radio.
Geoffrey Pratley is one of the most distinguished accompanists of his generation. For over twenty years he was a regular partner to the mezzo-soprano Dame Janet Baker, the French cellist Paul Tortelier, and the British violinist Ralph Holmes. Geoffrey is a Professor at the Royal Academy of Music and Trinity College of Music, London.
'Souvenirs of a Golden Age' is drawn from Marianne and Geoffrey's extensively researched and evolving repertoire of British and European light music from the late 19th century to the 1950's, the Golden Age of light music.
